Following our previous post on June 18, 2025, regarding the data protection request sent to St Philips Chambers and barrister Wendy Miller KC, we must inform our readers that no response was received by the deadline of June 27, 2025, as set by Lee Thompson, founder of The Cummins Accountability Project (TCAP).
In the interest of adhering to regulatory guidance, we have been advised by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) to allow a full month for a response before escalating the matter. This aligns with UK GDPR requirements, which grant organisations up to one month to address data subject requests.
As such, the new deadline for a substantive response from St Philips Chambers is now July 18, 2025. Should no response be forthcoming by this date, TCAP will proceed with lodging a formal complaint with the ICO, and potentially the Bar Standards Board, as previously indicated.
We remain committed to transparency and will continue to update our readers on any developments. If St Philips Chambers or Wendy Miller KC choose to respond via formal or public channels, their correspondence will be published in full, in keeping with our dedication to fairness and accountability.
For reference, the full email exchange and details of the original request can be found here.
