Warrior Willy Workhorse Works Weekends

Another week, another smile from Cummins’ golden boy. Willy Workhorse has done it again – proving that when “team spirit” meets targets not met, miracles happen and you can rely on young Willy.

This weekend, while lesser mortals were with their families or doing whatever normal people do with time off, Willy volunteered to “support production” at the plant. No one asked twice. He’s a go-getter, a do-er, the kind of chap who calls exhaustion “a growth opportunity”.

The LinkedIn post is set up for first thing Monday: Willy in hi-vis, thumbs-up beside a test cell, captioned “When passion doesn’t take weekends off”. The comments prediction: Inspirational! True dedication! Great culture!

Cummins will agree. Because nothing says people-first like people who don’t stop working. Burnout? Never heard of her. And if Willy ever does start feeling that little tremor of fatigue, the company’s got him covered – with its world-class Employee Assistance Programme. That’s right: a helpline where you can share your deepest anxieties with a stranger who once did a two-day mental-health webinar. Support at its finest.

So Willy soldiers on. He’ll keep smiling through those weary Saturdays, the “quick” Sunday catch-ups, the metrics and milestones that never sleep. Because at Cummins, the lights are always on, the engines always running, and the smiles always mandatory.

Somewhere in PR-land, a draft headline already waits:
“When Commitment Powers Progress.”
Translation: Willy’s still alive. Just about.
